"Tarara Boum!" Saint-Marteau & Pauline
Paris, 1900. The 'belle époque'. Music-Halls and cafés-concerts are packed.
French 'chanson' reaches unprecedented Heights and its first superstars
(Mayol, Fragson, Polin, Yvette Guilbert) gain international acclaim.
In their second show as a duo, Saint-Marteau and Pauline revisit the magnificent
repertoire from the years 1890-1913. Comic, exuberant, but also tragic songs.
Chansons which haven't lost any of their charm, ready to conquer our hearts again...
With Luk Vermeir (piano) -From juli 2017
"Saint-Marteau à la folie !"
In this show Saint-Marteau takes you on a journey through
his musical fantasy world and his inexhaustible wardrobe. This time
he focuses entirely on his own compositions, from cult classics like
"Croque-monsieur" or "Caleçon rouge" to brand new songs
like the single "Belgissimo !"
Running through the whole evening is Saint-Marteau's fondness for
the french 'revues' (like those once performed at the Folies-Bergère
or the Casino de Paris), but with the participation of his excellent
backing band, it is once again a solid combination of one man
show and rock concert.
A second series of performances will take place in the autumn of 2015,
with Bruno Coussée (bass), Arnout Hellofs (drums), Ben Van Camp
(guitar) and Luk Vermeir (keyboards).
"Avec les anges" Saint-Marteau & Pauline
Inspired by the beautiful duet 'Avec les anges' (from the musical comedy
Irma la Douce), Pauline Verminnen and Saint-Marteau totally
submerged themselves in the French songs of the 1950s. The result
is a very colorful show, full of well-known or forgotten masterpieces signed Guy Béart,
Boris Vian, Charles Aznavour, Jean Constantine, Francis Lopez and many others.
With Saint-Marteau (vocals), Pauline Verminnen (vocals) and Luk Vermeir (piano)
"Saint-Marteau se fait Gainsbourg"
Twenty years after Serge Gainsbourg’s death, Saint-Marteau
presented a show dedicated to the work of this legendary
Even the biggest Gainsbourg-fans were delighted
to hear lesser
known or even unreleased material, or to
rediscover some of the
greatest hits. “Saint-Marteau se fait
Gainsbourg” was not a typical
tribute show, but a joyous celebration
in which Saint-Marteau mixed
humour, exuberance and his unique
knowledge of the entire history
of French song. With Bruno
Coussée (bass), Isolde Lasoen (drums),
Ben Van Camp (guitar) et
Luk Vermeir (keyboards).
This show played at theatres from
september 2011 until april 2014.
"Saint-Marteau fait la fête"
With the brilliant Luk Vermeir on piano, Saint-Marteau can also
be enjoyed at smaller venues like cabarets, piano bars and private
parties. In this set up he gives a more intimate, but no less sparkling
performance of his own material, completed with a selection of old
French songs, which he revamps with lots of gusto.
